Mooring Ropes

Offshore Platforms anchoring

With the current and continuously growing global demand for Petroleum to meet the needs of today’s power-hungry world, the new discoveries in oil fields are mainly found on the high seas and in extremely deep waters. In the extremes of the North Sea, in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Asia, West Africa and Australia. Some of them also in the Middle East.

The excellent fatigue life of polyester and its resistance to internal and external abrasion, gives the rope a very good service life.

STATION KEEPING AT HARDEST CONDITIONS

Its resistance to stretching and great rigidity, allied with the proven low fibre-creep of polyester yarn, helps to absorb shocks and control the position of the platform (displacement). That is one of the key criteria of anchor design for ocean depths above 2000 meters.

Extension in a fibre rope results from bedding-in of the rope structure and from both instantaneous extension and creep in the yarns. Creep is the time dependent increase in elongation resulting from the continuous application of a load. BRILEN DST yarn are focused on improving creep and reduce abrasion.

This product can be certified according to DNV-GL, ABS, Bureau Veritas or other required standards.

IMPROVING TENSILE PROPERTIES FOR DEEPER ANCHORING

Polyester is the most durable of the common materials. It has strength both wet and dry. It has good resistance against external abrasion and does not lose strength rapidly due to cyclic loading.

BRILEN high tenacity polyester yarn is a reliable fibre with good behaviour in mechanical properties for of offshore ropes. The special abrasion resistance of polyester with Marine Fisnish improve tension fatigue performance and guarantees a long life products.

High Tenacity, Higher Challenges.
